~ 一步错，全盘错 ~Yeaterday is my super unlucky day. Early early in the morning, felt that I long time never check server's harddisk space le thus decided to do my part.... then found a path in FMS server is 99% used le and I afraid it will hard-disk-full. Find that there is nothing I can remove or compress except few xxxredo.log files. 自作聪明, decided to do a compress some of those 'log file' and that put a start to my bad day. Nearly 2 hours after I did that, around 11:45, calls start to come in as application failied le. After hinting DBA2 that I touched some files in the morning, it is concluded that I'm the cause and it actually 'kill' the whole database and need to restore back from tape. Did the recover action for quite a number of time & with different backup copies but all not able to get the database up. DBA2 seem to have some technical problem and I'm not able to help her at all. As each restore session took super long time, these activities continue all the way from 11plus yesterday till today's 8plus. After getting help from Oracle experts, then we realise that the very first restore should actually work already. Wasted all the effort lor. Not sure where when wrong previously as too sleepy to ask chim chim question. Actually worked for 27hours and keep doze-ing off in between during those waiting time. Tired although I only help up to do things like file cleaning & transfering and omni related task. Feel tat I'm going to die of guilt as 1 stupid mistake cause DBA & HC having to work overnight for me. DBA2 to do recover job & HC to commuicate to boot/CEO. After leading user to fill up possible lost data, only manage to leave office @ 11am. And this thing is so super big issue as it cause user not able to handle all transaction, company not able to collect rents for 3 days thus losting big lumb sum of bank interest and drivers not able to get any refund for 3 days... CEO and I think all HOD is alerted too!! Wounder if boot will tell them the real cause or not? Will CEO black list me? Will big boot scold me up-side-down when she back from tour?afraid & guilty
